How is a care companion different from a carer?

A care companion focuses on emotional wellbeing, conversation, outings and gentle daily support — alongside, or instead of, traditional personal care. Many of our clients feel a companion is what they really wanted all along.

How long are visits?

Visits are typically two to four hours, often longer. We do not believe in rushed fifteen-minute drop-ins — companionship needs time to breathe.

Are you insured and DBS checked?

Yes — enhanced DBS, full public liability insurance, first aid trained and dementia aware. All documentation is available on request.

Can you accompany us to medical appointments?

Absolutely. We can drive or accompany on public transport, take notes during the appointment and provide a clear written summary for the wider family.

Do you offer overnight or live-in care?

Our focus is daytime companionship and short respite visits. For overnight or live-in care we are happy to recommend trusted partners.

How quickly can you start?

We typically meet new families within a week, and most regular companionship begins within two weeks of our introductory visit.

Fees are bespoke to the visit length and care required. We will share a clear, fully itemised quote after our first conversation — with no obligation.

Can you support clients living with dementia?

Yes. We have extensive experience supporting people with early to moderate dementia, with patience, structure and gentle reassurance.

What happens if Yvonne is unwell or on holiday?

Accepted Answer

We always plan ahead. Should Yvonne be unavailable, we will only ever introduce a familiar, trusted companion she has personally vetted.
